Facebook Business Pages
I am asking if any of your companies use Facebook pages. If so, how is it working? My company has asked me to look into creating a page that represents them well on Facebook.

My business does NOT use a Facebook business page. However, as part of my business, I advise clients on how to effectively use social media, including Facebook, in presenting their business on the web.
There are a lot of opportunities for businesses in social media, but there are some potential pitfalls as well. In addition, some forms of social media are a better fit for businesses of one type over another.
Among the concerns is the possibility of negative feedback on your business. This is a distinct and real possibility - but you should be aware that it can and will occur whether or not your business is active on social media sites. Businesses that are pro-active and recognize that a dialog exists between business and client/customer usually fair well in these exchanges, even if negative information is brought forward. However, businesses that are not prepared to recognize that negative information may represent insight into the business and that are not willing to change course as needed to respond to that information do not fair as well.
