Microsoft Sharepoint Services 3 wiki and breadcrumbs

I need some help creating breadcrumbs, right term i think, in a wiki to ease navigating newly created pages. I'd like a link to the parent page and the home page of the wiki.  Am i way off base that something as over engineered as sharepoint should be able to handle that?  Thanks for your assistance.

    It absolutely should be, but unfortunately it can't. I've looked into this before and found some promising workarounds, although I haven't had a proper chance to try them out.

    The most promising is Muhimbi's solution ( although I don't believe it's a true breadcrumb, I think the previous crumb always leads to the wiki's home. If so it should be possible to enhance it show Site>Wiki Home>Referring page which would be slightly better but still not a real breadcrumb.

    Other workarounds seem to focus on simply listing incoming links which again is not a breadcrumb but may be of some limited use. ( and
