WinDirStat is an excellent tool for doing that. You can get it here.

For Windows, I like WinDirStat.  IT lets you scan your entire drive and creates a very nice graphical view of the files by size so you get a really clear view of which files take up the most space.

Some anti-virus programs on servers (like McAfee/NAI) are not properly deleting their log files.  The log files are typically stored in a four-digit hexadecimal titled folders off C:\WINDOWS\TEMP --- one folder per day.  You can safely delete the old log file folders.

Provided you have no intention of uninstalling them ... you can also safely delete the $NtUninstallKB...$ folders in C:\WINDOWS --- These folders are created to backup files replaced with Windows Patches.

I do not recommend deleting any which have dates within the past six months.

Try "SequoiaView". It uses a visualization of your Hard Disk. They called it "cushion treemaps".

Treesize from JAM software us pretty good - it gives you a hierarchical view of how much each folder is taking up, so you can drill down and see what's taking up the space. The free edition can be run on the local server, but I paid for Treesize Pro which allows you to analyse servers over the network, and report on file age etc
