IE 8 Flash Player Problem

Posted on 2009-12-17

Windows 7 Ultimate computer has a problem while running IE 8 pages with flash.
Pages that use Flash Player intermittently freeze and cause IE 8 to hang.
I have disabled flash player and the problem goes away.  I uninstalled flash player rebooted  and then reinstalled the plug-in yet the problem continues.

Any Suggestions?

Try installing the firefox web browser then install flash player 8 and browsing to the site in question and see if that solves your issue. There may be another plugin specific to IE 8 that is causing it to crash when it invokes flash, which you'd have to uninstall. Installing firefox with flash will show you if it's flash itself or not.

    Hi Sardiskan
I do also use firefox and I don't have a problem connecting to the sites using that browser.

It's failing on FLash player 10d. Try installing a previous version of flash and see if that makes a difference.

Also, if you don't have a problem with it in firefox, why not just use firefox?

Looks like this problem is pretty well known. There is a question for it on EE already.

Looks like you should try starting IE8 in compatibility view.
