Movies on line

Hi Guys
Maybe you won't be able to help but let's try

I work for a fundraising organization, we are trying to generate an event, we thought about watching movies online.

Is there any site that offers to watch movies online, maybe i can create an event and get people to register to watch a movie online
If any of you know this or have any idea please share it

thanks
best regards

Do you mean watching a movie online all together on the same PC or each person watching a movie on their own PC? Because you can use netflix or blockbuster or any of the online rental places to enable you to watch movies online. If you want to have multiple people watch a movie online at the same time that is another issue. There are very strict laws regarding showing a movie online. That's the same as broadcasting it which means you'd have to have broadcast rights or rights similar to the rights blockbbuster and netflix have.

The same laws apply to that process. All you can do is search around for a solution.

Cyber Threats to Small Businesses (Part 1)

This past May, Webroot surveyed more than 600 IT decision-makers at medium-sized companies to see how these small businesses perceived new threats facing their organizations.  Read what Webroot CISO, Gary Hayslip, has to say about the survey in part 1 of this 2-part blog series.

No, it wouldn't work anyway, the speed of the connection of a web meeting would be too slow.

It's against the law to charge money and has to with copyrights.
Unless you own the copyrights to the videos as soon as money is incurred the copyrights require that you pay motion picture experts group a fee to use their videos.
This applies to all videos. hense most hosting sites are free.
Just like picture theaters have to pay MGM a fee to rent their movie.
Also you cannot charge a regestration fee to watch movies online if those videos are already hosted and free.
So the true answer to your question is you can't do this.
Sorry to say.
Alternative is to sell stuff from your own web site.
Use the internet to find ideas like this one..

You can show 15 seconds of the movie via the "Fair Use Act". But that would be the extent of it.
