Outlook 2003 navigation pane fonts

this happened when the user first opened the VBA editor and everytime after.

The font size of the folders is reduced and the space betwen the folder name and number of items unread is increased.  We close and re-open outlook but when we try to run a macro it fails and we cannot see them.  We launch the VBA editor then we can use the Macros and this is also when the font changes.

This is what I have done so far

deleted the .dat and .otm from the users outlook directory
ran a detect and repair

First try this: Close Outlook, click Start->Run, type Outlook /cleanprofile
If that doesn't do the trick then recreate the Outlook profile. Profile corruption is the source of many strange behaviours in Outlook.
You may first want to save away the address cache (the .nk2 file) which contains the addresses the user has prevoiusly sent successfully. You find the .nk2 file here (XP):
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
    (Vista: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook)
If you do not know how to recreate a profile:
After recreating the profile you can restore the .nk2 file to the same location assuming you used the same name for the new Outlook profile.

    Accepted Solution

I tried a new profile no luck.  It seems to be realted to disabling desktop compostion on the executable.  I had a windows 7 machine wiht no issue, I then disbaled this on the EXE and the issue presented itself.  I then re-enabeld desktop compostion in the EXE but the problem persists.  This only happens if we open the VBA editor.  If we use outlook wiht that ever being open the issue does not appear.
