Windows 7 Backup

I have a user who recently got a new notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium.  In Windows Vista, he was able to perform amended backups to DVDs, overwriting the previous days DVD.  Now it seems that I have to use new media everytime I perform a backup and it performs a full backup everytime, instead of just backing up whats changed.  Is there anyway to make this backup application perform much like the one that was in Vista?

It is best practice to format the DVD-RW before the actual write.
So first preform the format and then the backup.

remember,windows backup is very limited.
for what you ask you need other tools (example Nero backup)

ok that is all I needed to know.  so the backup provided with Windows 7 is not the same as with Vista?  No incremental backups?

maybe I should convince the user to use their external hard drive to do the backups instead of doing them to DVD.
