Issues with Symantec Backup - Duplicate to Tape

Hi Guys,

I'm hitting an issue when backing up to tape. Currently we have a B2D Setup where it backs up our VMDK files to local storage. Then we have a duplicate job linked to it, which sends it to tape.

Now the B2D part works fine, goes to the local storage as expected. But when the duplicate job kicks off, it looks like its about to complete, and matches the Byte Count. Then fails and tells me that there is insufficent disk space.

Final error: 0xe000848f - Insufficient disk space.
Final error category: Resource Errors

Now i have a 1.5TB tape in the drive and its cleared ready for writing.. If i do a manual backup, it sends it to the tape no problem..

Now the most problems i have read have been with people backing up exchange servers, but this is not the case with me..

Does anyone have any ideas why it would be failing over and over?

Thanks alot,

Are you using Symantec Backup Exec for both jobs? If so, what version? Can you also please list your backup job settings for the back up job that is failing?

Both jobs are within Backup Exec 12.5

The duplicate job is a simple process, all it should do is copy frmo the drive.

What is the threshold value set to backup to disk folder. ?

update backup exec to latest SP ...3

Try to decrease threshold value to 5 GB.

The threshold was at 20gb, ive moved it down to 5gb and currently updating to SP3 as we speak.

Will update once i run the job again!
