spring and hybernate

Hi.. We are planning to start a new web based application for real time power monetering system.
we just want to do it in Spring and hybderate and java(currernt application is in PHP mysql and APache) . we just want to migrate it with extra feature. I have good experince in java, but i never used spring and hybernate before. I want to design a basic archetecture for this applicaion, can anybody suggested me where to start. This is completely online application.

we are planning to use Mysql as database and Jboss as server.. any comments on that?
