I am running php 5.3.1.

PHP 5.3.1 (cli) (built: Nov 20 2009 18:18:28)
Copyright (c) 1997-2009 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2009 Zend Technologies

I need to install zend optimizer but the file ZendOptimizer-3.3.9-linux-glibc23-x86_64.tar.gz does not include a .so for php 5.3.1

What do I do?

I would suggest that the ZendOptimizer 3.3.9 supports a lower version of php. If the application that requiresphp doesn't require php 5.3.1, I would suggest installing a slightly older version. At least a version old enough to be supported by the optimizer version 3.3.9.
