.bat file or vbscript to move files and create a txt file log on windows 2003 share user initiated

I'm looking for a script that will allow "users" to execute a move of files into a backup directory then output this with date/time to a text file log.  I tried this with a .bat file and it works when I tested on the server but not when I execute the same .bat file from the network share.  Do I need a vbscript?

I figured out the solution to use the server name in the paths (UNC) solution.  Closing question.

post your bat file.
Just a side note:

Batch files use the Net Use command shell to move, delete, copy files and folders. This is OK if you have domain or local admin / power user privileges.

Your users that are running the Net use command shell may not have privileges to map or delete or move files around. So, you may want to consider a VBS script instead.
