Content that doesnt reload

Helllo experts,

I'm developing a website which makes use of Soundcloud. The problem however is that every time I click on a link to another page, the Soundcloud 'widget' reloads. So the user has to hit the play button again and the musics starts all over.

This is very annoying and I would like to make it so that that part of the page doesnt reload while going to another page. And I really do not want to use frames.

Is there a way to do this? Without the use of frames? The website's URL is http://www.freaxz.nl/test/index.php, and the widget is in the bottom left corner.

Another small question: sometimes Google Chrome doesn't fill the background with the bgcolor vertically. Hit F5 a couple of times and you'll understand what I mean. How can this be fixed?

Thanks in advance!

unfortunately there is no way to do what you want with the music. frames would be the only way to accomplish that. Or redoing your website so that the clicks to new pages don't actually reload the page from the server but instead just refresh part of the page using AJAX.

as far as the bg color, try setting the bg color on the html element as well

html { background-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); }

not sure why it's doing what it's doing but that might 'fix' it.

Ahh i was afraid of that. But with frames I have to connect to my database in every single file, right? Or is it all connected, like the include function (php), so I only connect in 1 file?

And thank you, that html bgcolor worked!

No, like now i have it written in php and use includes. 1 of those contains the db connect info and because i include that in every page, it loads. Does frames work the same way? Or does every frame think for itself?

every frame thinks for itself, but i'd redesign a bit so that the only thing going into a frame is your music player. your db call would still only be on your main page.

Hmmm, how do I create a frameset which will only have 2 frames, where one is just the lower left corner?
Don't i have to create one for the menu then aswell?

it can't really be just the corner. it would have to be either the left side or the bottom. i'd suggest perhaps doing one frame across the bottom w/ the music player. I believe I've seen that setup before.
