Whenever I encounter a site that redirects to a secure page such as mail.yahoo.com, internet explorer thinks that there is no internet connection and gives me the diagnose connection problems button.

However, if I visit the same page in Firefox, I redirect to the https site just fine. So I know it's not a Firewall, DNS, or other network problem.

I changed all the security setting and advanced settings to default on IE, and the problem remains.

IE is version 8, Windows XP
