Baseline Property

Can anybody explain what is a Baseline Property of a chart is used for?

The baseline property is used to map a baseline.   So for instance if you were tracking stocks and wanted to mark  10,000 you could set this as a baseline.     Esentially the baseline draws a line accross the screen at which you can compare all values.

Hi, Thanks for the response.  Suppose I have a chart in which I have Gross Profit in the 'Default measure' (y-axis) and Region in the 'Series'.  I create Mean baselines like Mean, Mean + 1 standard devaiations and Mean  - 1 standard deviation.  In eaxh one I give 0%,  10%,  & 50%.  So depending on the Gross Profit for each region it would show the baseline.  Am I right?

No in the scenio you descrbe it would take all values to create the baseline.   You would only have one baseline for the entire chart whille the series values would all show at once on the chart as color coded values.
