Hi all --  I am a very confused man here.  We are starting to deploy 2008 server in my company and I am told that I need to use a KMS server for volume licensing.  I have done some research and can't seem to find a good how to article to accomplish this.  Does anyone know how to properly setup a KMS server?  This is driving me crazy!  Thanks.

Do you have more than 25 servers (or plan to use KMS keys for servers and clients)? Then use a KMS server, or else just use a MAK key, you can get one online through eOpen or you can call MS customer service and they will provide one.
If you still want to setup a KMS server here is a link..
