QuickBooks integration help

I am using a Filemaker plugin called FileBooks to integrate an FM6 database with QuickBooks. After the latest QuickBooks payroll upgrade, the application stopped working. When I try to open the QuickBooks company file via a plugin call, I receive an error 21 message. This might not be related, but if I attempt to open the QuickBooks company file from Windows Explorer, I get the following error message:
"Unexpected Internal Error "80040154"
This even happens with the QuickBooks sample company. The file opens normaly if opened from within QuickBooks.
I have tried re installing QuickBooks. I even tried a fresh installation of Quickbooks on a new computer. The same error occured :(

The latest QuickBooks Payroll upgrade changed the QB file format. I got that message on every ledger that I upgraded. So there is probably something incompatible with the new format and your plugin. You probably need to contact Filemaker about this as they will have to update their application. ... Thinkpads_User

New version is available at FMbooksconnector.com. The company was purchased by Productive computing in 2008

Unfortunately, FMBooks connector doesn't work with Filemaker version 6. The installation has Filemaker server with 10 users. It would be a very expensive upgrade to go to version 10.

The current versions of Quickbooks are based on Sybase SQL and the ENterprise Version is on MSSQL. There are ODBC drivers from intersolv for sybase and MS Sql will connect directly to Filemaker.

Maybe you are better off upgrading to Enterprise, but I don't know your situation.

Through the Sybase ODBC connection you should be able to do anything you are doing with a plugin but it will probably require rewriting of the routines. I don't have any experience with the plugin but I have some with the Sybase ODBC driver.

Datadirect is the current developer for Sybase drivers for Filemaker

The file association was wrong. Files with a QBW file were opening as a QuickBooks library file. Changing the association to the QuickBooks program file fixed the problem.
