Problems installing norton 360 on windows xp

Hi All

I have just bought the 3 machine license version of norton 360 with a new machine running windows 7 and it has installed with no problems. I then tried to install it on my other PC, which is running on windows XP and aleready has norton systemworks 2007 installed.

The CD is being read ok and the installation menu appears fine but when I click on install norton 360, the installshield wizard kicks in and tries to install an old programme (Design Works Classic) that I put on the machine several years ago.

I have tried deleting the install folder for thios programme (by deleting it to norton recycle bin) and also restarting the computer, but the same thing keeps happening.

Any thoughts?

regards

Have now sorted the problem by setting up the system from scratch with the original recovery disc. There were so many other problems with the PC that this seemed the best option.

Did you empty all the temp files for all users and current user???
Also check in Documents and settings application data folders (Symantec)  under all users....

temp folder is usually hidden together with application and settings so you must enable view of these hidden files.
