forwarding mobile users without javascript

i'm currently building a WAP-compatible version of my website just for mobile users, but since it's common for cell phones and smartphones to have javascript turned off or not installed, i need a way to detect and forward mobile users without using javascript (like what twitter does). i'd like to forward users from http://domain.com/ to http://m.domain.com/ anyone done this before?

You must have very paranoid carriers in the US. Anyway you have 3 ways in descending order of Good Practise:
1. Have a welcome page with a link visible to javascript disabled using noscript
2. What I suggested is perfectly workable and I do not see an issue there
3. Some hack I have not tested involving using javascript to remove a meta redirect tag before it is executed.

What smartphones have JS turned off???

None I know of.

You need to forward the JS people instead

<html>
<head>
<script>
location.replace('jsenabled.html');
</script>

i have a Sidekick LX from t-mobile and javascript was disabled by default. My wife has the iPhone with AT&T and javascript was turned off by default as well. most likely for security reasons. but this doesn't really answer my question of forwarding mobile users without javascript...
