IE more features but poor buffering

I tried a steaming video in 3 browsers. - IE FF Opera

FF & Opera are good, but they do not allow going forward or backward. IE allows that, but then it has poor buffering of video (audio is ok)- video gets struk for several seconds; then it becomes ok, then again it goes off etc.

I know that the original server and the internet traffic or the number of users hitting it is not an issue, because they do good on Opera or FF.

What can I change in IE to do better streaming/buffering of video? It uses WMP, I believe FF uses Siliverlight, not sure how opera operates the video..

It is IE 7.0.6002 version that is in question..

thanks

Youn adjust the buffer in WMV under Tools\Options\Performance tab.

In the Performance tab what parameters can be adjusted for better video buffering? Should I change the 5 minutes to 30 minutes for better buffering? is that what you meant?

I would try increasing it. It says 5 seconds not minutes. I would try maybe 10 or 15 seconds

moving it to 15 did not seem to help.

Any other thoughts I can try?

Is there ia long delay before FF and Opera start playing? Are they loading entire video before playing?

FF and Opera are seamless.. you do not even see any buffering. But the downside is you cannot adjust the bar to forward or rewind. IE allows you to use rewind/fast forward features, but the streaming is poor (audio is ok).

Maybe optimizing your TCP will help. There are some tools to do that here.

I never did it so I don't know which one to recommend.
Other than that the only thing I can think of is to crank the WMV buffer up or disable it altogether.
