Windows 7, VB5, shdocvw.dll

I am in the final throes of transferring my apps to W7 from W2K. It ain't easy!
I have an app with a Web Browser control "Microsoft Internet Controls".
It appears on the Components menu but when I select it and "Apply",
I get the error "Error accessing the system registry".
I did open VB with "Run as administrator".
Checking the references menu, MS Internet Controls references ieframe.dll.
I browse over to change it to shdocvw.dll, and when I open, I get the error
"Specified library or project, or a compatible library or project is already loaded" .
The VB form with the browser control does not load properly.

    Accepted Solution

Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs > Run programs made for previous versions of Windows > Next > Select Visual Basic 5

You can then select XP or 2000 , or others.
This leads to opening VB in that mode, after which you can then change the Project > Components reference to shdocvw.dll. Then the web browser tool appears in the tool box.
It then saves these settings for future use of VB.
    Works great!
