Error trying to re-build SQL Server 2008 system databases
I'm issuing the following command at the command prompt:
Setup /QUIET /ACTION=REBUILDDATABASE /INSTANCENAME=DB\DMO89 /SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS=BUILT IN\Adminis trators /SAPWD=[removed] /SQLCOLLATION=Latin1_Gener al_Bin
but i get the error:
Exception type: Microsoft.SqlServer.Setup. Chainer.Wo rkflow.Noo pWorkflowE xception
Any ideas why I would be getting this?

Thanks angellIII - I read that before posting my questoin, and it doesn't seem to help because it's referring to a brand new install, and not an actual re-build.
I feared so...
do you have any service pack/hotfix/ installed?
is the setup the one that is actually installed?

I have SP1 installed, and using the setup from c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\release which I presume is current when I upgraded the instance to SP1.
That correct?
That correct?
yes, correct AFAIK.
I fear you need to call MS directly for that, I presume you have support contract for your sql server(s) ?

Can you try running the installer from CD and then re-applying the SP's post RC0 being installed?
