install VS2008 and silverlight

(it sounds like you did)

I hop you are not using cracked versions.

1) Backup any VS2008 projects you already may have
2) Uninstall VS2008
3) Backup your silverlight projects
4) Uninstall silverlight
5) Reboot
6) Re-install VS2008
7) Fully update VS2008 and .NET via the Microsoft website
8) Download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9442b0f2-7465-417a-88f3-5e7b5409e9dd&displaylang=en
9) Install it
10) Update it fully
11) Test whether it works or not

ok i am not getting it. I updated with 500mb and still wont work.

I install this VS2008 and then install silverlight tools. I tried silverlight 3 SDK but I get a 'already installed error'

I then click on silverlight project to create and i get a 'need silverlight runtime error' but it is already installed.

 

Also by the lack of responses this tells me this is unusual and only a complete reinstall of windows  and format HD will solve it.

have just installed VS2008.
I can load my old SL projects but I get the image appearing saying  to install silverlight when running the app.
The SL runtime not installed?
The runtime is installed and I can view MS webpages with it on and have verified it.

I can get SL projects to work(sort of)

Some projects run with only some images appearing  but they work fine in VWD express.

VS2008 doesnt run VWD express projects properly?

I tried clean and rebuild and sill no good but i need to recreate the projects in VS008 to make it work which is a lot of effort
