what are the additional requirements? Do they need two distinct document libraries? Do they need to sync? Or can you just fake it and use one document library and provide additional links on the 2nd site?

You can use Data View WebPart (SharePoint Designer 2007) to display your SharePoint library in another site. But be sure that, what is correct requirement, as asked by quihong...
Thanks

That is still really not clear. What does "available" mean? Is a link from IPO site pointing back to the ITS site with the doclib significant?

What's the reason for the request or the objective.

If you can't add anything, then that's your only solution cause there is no out of box solution to have 2 distinct document libraries that will sync with each other.

currently i have link IT Proj doclib in IPO site....user selecting that link and using it but i don't want to redirect to https://moss/sites/ITSProject/doclib. ..i want this doc lib in in IPO site only should not redirect to ITS Project site...should be synchronized from IPO.

Hope this will clear information...

Upto my knowledge, It is not possible to have that type feature in our document library. In both the way, what I said (Data View webpart) and mccarthybri, the document libary is going to be an instanance of the root directory.
Thanks

1. Open Your Site in SharePoint Designer.
2. Go to the page where you want to place that document library webpart and select the webpart area you want to place that data view webpart. (i.e., default.aspx of your IPO Site)
3. In the tools menu, Select Data View > Manage Data Sources.
4. If you click that one then, You will find Data Source Libray in the tool pane which is show in the image. (i.e., 1.png)
5. In that tool pane select Connect to another library.
6. Here add the Library. and once if add then you will get the document libraries list in that tool pane. Drag and drop or do your customization to display that document library.
Thanks
