Joomla backend is slow

Hi,

I developed a joomla 1.5 website and suddenly the back end is incredibly slow and I don't know why. The other day, I was training my client on how to run it and I noticed that he was able to access pages 5 times faster than I am. I have to wait 15-30 Seconds for each page. So obviously it's something on my end. My net speed is fast so I don't have a slow connection. What are some things to check for?

I was running wamp on my pc for another site I'm building and it was running. Can this do it?

thanks,

Are you sure you are not infected with a virus? You was using Internet Explorer to navigate site? If you change your browser like to Firefox or Opera and try again...

I was using firefox but also tried IE8. No change. I have a antivirus installed and I think I'm clean. I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary. I usually notice viruses.

Are you sure everything is fine in another computer and it's slow only in your PC?

I have checked with another computer on the network and it is also slow.

Check MySQL, check your server load, no idea... It's too generic question. You need to check your server status, server load, MySQL DB, etc.
You may also want to 'ping' the server that this site is on.. depending upon what your ISP, etc.. and that server are 'doing', there could be multiple junctions where packet loss, etc could cause a slow connection. First place to start is to contact your ISP, then the host of that website.

Hope that gets you started.. :)
upgrade your wampserver because wamp project keeps updating their php and sql versions with latest pactches.
I prefer you take a backup of your db's and joomla installations and  uninstall the current version of wamp
clean your temp folders and reinstall new download
It will helpyou
And something on page loading is effected by GZIP (OFF)in admin control panel, you can on it from global config settings

I contacted my isp and they say on their end the site is fine and speeds are normal. They were able to browse the backend quickly. It's something with my network because the all pc's are slow.

I have wamp on my personal machine and that does not effect this process so wampserver has nothing to do with it.

Here is where I'm at:

1. More than one people off the network have browsed faster than I.
2. I have tried on multiple machines on my network all of which are slow. Some with some without an anti virus.

Any suggestions?
All things in your network is fast, all computers in your network access internet fast,  just when your people visiting your website, they experience slow connection and some not, right? Is this true? Do you think it's possible?

The website is running fine. It's not slow. It's the joomla backend that is slow. ONLY the backend. Sometimes I have to wait 20-30 seconds to go from one article to the next. The icons are slow to load. ect...

Do you have extensions installed in admin panel? When it's slow, after you wait 20-30 seconds, it goes normal? I mean could you navigate to pages in admin panel after that fast?

It's consistantly slow on my pc's and yes I have extentions installed.

Here's another interesting fact: I was training someone else (a client) and his backend was a lot faster than mind. I couldn't keep up with him.

I have no problem with letting you see the site. How can I contact you. The only issue with this is that on your pc, the site will load just fine. It's only my pc's that are an issue. wierd right?
No worries.. seeing the files within the source, tracking any errors, incorrect links, etc.. will be my main focus.. you can contact me at jm 07202007 at g mail :)

Local Network is the issue.
@wingcat,
Glad you were able to isolate the cause.. have you been able to resolve it completely?

Not 100 percent. The ISP will log on to my pc and evaluate it further
