How to setup linksys Router to Client Mode

Hi is it possible for me to setup my wrt54gl linksys router as a client or in other words have it function just like a built-in wifi adapter what labtops carry?I would like to use it to connect to my neighbors AP...If it's possible could u please detail the steps to be successful would very much appreciate it thanks.

Here is a detailed step by step on setting up client mode. Skip down to the Client section in the guide and go from there. You will need your neighbors wifi router, security settings and keys.

I don't think this router supports client mode or bridge mode.  Only a few wifi router models support this function. Also, be sure to get your neighbor's permission, as its not legal to connect to wifi APs you don't own without permission, even if its an open AP (at least in the US).

Linksys routers by default do no support client mode or being setup as an access point. But you can flash the firmware with DD-WRT. With DD-WRT you will be able to setup your router as an access-point.
Just a warning though. DD-WRT is NOT supported by linksys. Also if not installed properly you could break your router to the point of not being able to use it or fix it. The install is not too difficult just make sure you follow all install documentation step by step.
