I am asked to do a PoC to try out a scenario wherein  the client application would present a blank page and wanted server to render Data - Nothing jazzy simple text like Purchase Order. The only thing the client would do is to make the request.  Can this be achieved?
If not, Wanted to know what minimal the client should have
Would need experts opinion before even i attempt Comet/DWR.
Also, we are running Java based application.
Thanks

MAke an Ajax request and serve the client the HTML page. Stuff the results into a div/iframe/whatever and have at it.
