We are using FIlemaker Server.  I want to save a quick backup of one of my files, but the Save a Copy As is greyed.  Is there way to make this so it is not grey?

    Accepted Solution

save as is greyed out for any server shared file
in this case, backup can be done via the server admin console.
can even be done on the fly without disconnecting users and scheduled too. there are preset backups schemes, or you can make your own. can also be done from outside, using the command line tool fmsadmin.exe.

Thanks.. So an individual backup can be done through there? I will try that.

yes. feel free to ask for more, I normally know the topic pretty well. One thing ignored very often: fm server can only backup on a local disk, not on a remote/network volume.
