We run a third party time and billing software program (BillQuick2005)that sychronizes with Quickbooks Multicurrency Edn.  The time and billing software runs an SQL2005 database, and In the last couple of days we have run into a problem where all machines trying to synchronize the two databases give error 429 or "Can not create QBMXLRP Com component" when trying to open a Quickbooks session in the background.

I know nothing about this, but if it's something that just started happening, did you just update your QB file by chance? I know 2009 R9 made major changes to the data structure.  I'd also check Preferences>Integrated Applications in QB. Make sure BillQuick still has access granted to the file.

Other than that, I hope someone else chips in.

You are correct that it is to do with an update - early xmas present from Intuit?  Here is the interesting thing though, the update creates a permanent change.  In other words, reinstalling or reversing the update does not get rid of the problem.  The only way to get rid of it using the QB software is to reinstall on a fresh machine and DO NOT UPDATE!  I did find a solution through another of our third party software apps that we use for direct deposit -- the update killed their connection to QB too.  They fixed it overnight.  For those in the same boat, you might be able to get a fix using this update:
