Visual Studio Shows Unused Menu Resources as In Use

When I right-click on an item in the Resource View tab and select "Resource Symbols", many of the symbols are names which I believe are not in use.  There are many previous names of menu items which I have changed but they are still checked as in use.  If I select ViewUse I am unable to find them in the menu that comes up.  I recognize them as previous names of menu items but they are no longer in use.  There are a lot of unused ones, so I would like to get rid of them.  Thanks for the help.

If it matters, this is an MFC application project using VS 2008 Professional Edition.

Open resources.h and look for IDs having the same value; than you need to check them manually
