I have a SharePoint 2007 Portal and about 15 Sites within with users uploading and working on assorted office documents. So now they want to view data and have Excel workbooks displayable (Excel Web Part).
I tried adding their shared doc sites to the list of trusted locations and then tried adding one or two workbooks to their sites via the Excel Web Part. Unfortunately, it seems that the documents that were added to their shared docs folders prior to adding the shared doc folders to the list of trusted locations will not load:
The workbook that you selected cannot be opened.
The workbook may be in an unsupported file format, or it may be corrupt.
Would you like to try and open this file in Excel?
So here are my questions:
Do you need to setup the trusted location prior to uploading files or the files will not be trusted?
Do only 2007 Excel files open in Excel Web Part?
Will macro enabled Excel files open in Excel Web Part?
What is the cause of this error?
