Does exporting printers from 2003 to move to 2008 remove printers from 2003 server

If I use the Export printers wizard in 2008 will it actually remove all the printers from the old server or just create a second share on the new server? I need to run the old server for awhile until I get SAP updated and I don't want to migrate everything off to the new server if the tool actually removes them from the old.
