In addtion to above, In Virtualbox, you can set shared folders of host OS to be used in guest OS. I have tried this for Windows 7 to XP but I am pretty sure, you won't have problem that Virtual Box is pretty stable when talking to different OS.

Go to the settings of the guest OSes to set the shared folders.

Best regards.

Yes, Linux guest OS is configured to accept SSH connections, but dont know why am getting putty Time-out error (host OS using Putty to connect guest OS). I have tried stopping my fire-walls and tried again, but no use. Please suggest any solutions, thanks in advance.
try this from source machine's command prompt -

telnet <destination IP> 22
