Friend has a new Sony Vaio T4300 3GB RAM W7 HP.. all is fine but after resuming from hibernation most of her puzzle games don't work - all throw some kind of graphics error - 'no hardware acceleration', '3d not available' or similar messages - a reboot and all is well.

Any ideas why hibernation is causing this?

For when "computer is plugged in" power scheme, Try turning off all power management settings in the control panel > power options.

    Assisted Solution

First thing to try would be to uninstal and reinstal the graphics drivers. Go to Sony's website and locate the Windows 7 graphics drivers and reinstall them.,72,70,66,24,26,9,5

If you did try to renew all 3 drivers succesfully but this did not help, my last try would be to install a driver from

Tried all above, no difference. She is living with the problem, uses sleep rather than hibernation.
