SQL Error Message

I  recentlu upgraded my browser to IE 8 and when I tried to open  an application that is web-based, I got the following error message:

p>When Others Raised in Show_Page:<BR>

ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

Is it because of IE 8? I can open the application from another work station with no problem.

Any thoughts?

    Accepted Solution

Obviously that's coming from the web app.  You'd need the source code for that application to figure anything out.  It looks like a string is too long.  The only wild guess is that either the phrase "When Others Raised in Show_Page:" or whatever it wants to display on the next line is too long.  Are either of those something you entered somewhere?

Sure it could be related to using a different browser, if that's what changed since it last worked, but it's not the browser's fault, just that the application can't handle whatever the browser is throwing at it.
