Why do some Digital Certificates not work under IE 8

For some reason  Digital Certificates from ADP does not work anymore even when they reissued another one on a different machine.  I followed their instructions for setting up IE 8 to work with their Certificate and I'm still getting "Mismatched Address" Error even in ie 8 standard settings.  If i go to IE 8 options and uncheck the "check for Mismatch address" what ever it's called, it will give me an error "Page cannot be found"  Then, I unchecked "check for publishers certificate revocation" and other options related to certificates and still same issue.  Internet security is set to the lowest option in IE 8.  The adp site is also added to the IE 8 trusted sites.  the certificate is installed under personal in certificates in IE 8.  adp certificate only works with IE no alternative as adp stated.

Or is it possible that ADP keeps reissuing the same old certificate that no longer works with their website.
