AS2 Scroll Panel Headache
Hello.
I have several scroll panels in a Flash file and they all work fine except for one. Here's the background:
It only works with one of my movie clips, even though the linkage is set the same way for the other movie clips. If I duplicate the movie clip, change the linkage to match the new movie clip name, and change the scroll panel parameter to point to the new name, it doesn't work!
I've recreated the scroll panel ande tried to create the movie clip from scratch in case it was corrupted or something, but no go.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks!

Hmm, can you post your .fla file so I can take a look and see what is wrong. It is easier to take a look at the file instead of guessing what you might be doing wrong.

Argh! Unfortunately, the fla is too large to upload. If I copy and paste into a fresh Flash file, ithe scroll pane works fine. Just weird!

There can be various reasons due to that but the most probable reason is that the old scroll pane instance is unable to correctly link to the object(e.g. a textfield) and by re-creating a new scroll pane instance, it managed to correctly find the correct object to link to.
Other reasons may be you messed up the settings of the old scroll pane instance and made it link to wrong objects or even removed the linking.
If you still have the old file that is not working, I can help you check out the problem. Just upload it to a free host like mediafire.com.
If you do not have the old file, providing me the working file most likely will not tell me anything. If you are able to recreate the problem, I will be happy to take a look at that for you.
