My problem is that I can't get the weight value back correctly, all the commands I send I get back a 0.

I tried calling NCR but they don't want to help me :(

I need a simple command to send to the scale to get back the correct weight using hyper terminal, but I can't get it.

Is there anyone here using ncr?

Is there a application from them to test the scale?

Any help is greatly appreciated

I am a retailer that users NCR scanner scales.   What is the history on this unit?   Do you know that it is working?
Does it weigh and report the weight in the customer display (not all have one)?   I believe there is a set of diagnostic leds on this scale that indicates it booted correctly, do they show a good unit?

What interface did it come with?  Are you sure that it has a serial interface.  You need to the correct interface inside the scanner and not just the serial cable.
Do you have the single cable (scan and weight in one interface) or dual cable.   If dual cable do you have the correct cable connected?
Do you have the programming barcodes?
I you do not have the scanning codes you won't be able to change the scale for your interface.
