Try opening the vs2005 command line and typing in the following command : devenv /resetskippkgs

If this fails, you may want to check Tools/Options/Text Editor/File Extensions and see if the .vb extension is listed.

Thanks Netcraft,
But 'devenv /resetskippkgs' and 'Tools/Options/Text Editor/File Extensions and see if the .vb ' not help.

Did you get a message when entering 'devenv /resetskippkgs' ? Are you perhaps using the Express Edition? Then you might try 'VWDExpress /resetskippkgs'.

Do you get other errors when working with Visual Studio?

Can you do a build of one of your projects? Maybe this will fix it.

Can you check the "Build action" on the property of the Form. If it is"Content", change it to "Compile" and see if this helps?

Can you check if another user on this machine has the same problem?

If all fails, you can do a reinstall of Visual Studio.
1. Uninstall VS2005
2. Run the Windows Install Cleanup Utility (http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;290301&x=9&y=7)
3. Install .Net Framework 1.1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en)

5. Install .Net Framework 3.0 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=10CC340B-F857-4A14-83F5-25634C3BF043&displaylang=en)
6. Install Visual Studio 2005 extensions for .NET Framework 3.0 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5D61409E-1FA3-48CF-8023-E8F38E709BA6&displaylang=en)
7. Install Visual Studio 2005

Please answer all above questions.

Hi, Netcraft,
I reinstall VS 2005 - nothing changed.
Actually, maybe You know this situation from beginning: When I open my  project  in Visual Studio 2005 i get the yellow triangle in the reference list and the warning "The referenced compontent 'component' could not be found." I tried to remove and re-add the DLL to the references, from several locations. I also tried to set the reference path (which has not been set before), but nothing helps. I tried to delete the project files and get fresh files from Source safe, but that doesn't help either. I cannot add or renew any reference in this project, but I can add any other library reference to any project. I suddenly got some strange reference errors when building the project, and since that it refuses to recognize all librarys.

About the component error, did you see this:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/3z7eh83e(VS.80).aspx

Also see the link on that page to "Troubleshooting Broken References":

Do you have another PC with Visual Studio 2005?

You mention you entered  'devenv/reserskippkgs'. There are two typos there. Can you let us know what output you get when you enter the following line on the command line:
devenv /resetskippkgs
