Freshly installed SBS2008 IIS 7 gives Error 500 when enabling 32 bit application

Hello everybody.

I have just deployed a new server running SBS2008 with IIS7.  I want to publish a site that runs ASP .Net, which runs perfectly on another server.

I create the new site on IIS7 and copy all the files from the site.  Up to here, everything is OK.

The problem comes when I enable 32 bit application on advanced configuration, as I call a 32bit DLL and without this option enabled, it crashes.

After enabling this, every trial to access any page from that site causes an ERROR 500. Even trying to access a simple html file saying "Hello world" without any html tag causes this error.

I tried all the steps explained on page   http://forums.iis.net/t/1154334.aspx     but it did not help.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance!

The link on the IIS site that I help solve was a 503 error not a 500 one and involved the rpcproxy.

Can you confirm your error?

If it is a 500 error can you post the IIS logs (with all fields) for that error. The subcode could give you the reason why this is failing.

Do you have a 64bit OS and are running a 32bit dll as you imply that but do not specify.

Hello Rovastar,

I see I pasted the wrong link...

Anyway, taking a look at the error logs I saw it is a 500.19 error, and everything is now "fixed" following the solution for question  http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Web_Servers/Microsoft_IIS/Q_24010886.html

No compression, no problem...

Thanks anyway!
