Virtual PC is designed to emulate physical box.  It will not back up an existing device.  I would try using imaging software like Symantec Ghost to create an image of the PC.

Create a vmware image with VMWare Converter later, convert the vmware image to Virtual PC http://vmtoolkit.com/blogs/announcements/archive/2006/11/20/vmdk-to-vhd-converter-available.aspx

Yes, but convert vmware images to Virtual PC. Is a 2 step procedure: Tablet PC->vmware->Virtual PC

Use Winimage  (www.winimage.com) and there's a physical disk to VHD converter under the disk pulldown...  Make an image of the C: drive, and store it on a LAN or USB drive, then use Virtual PC to boot from that VHD.  SHould work fine..
