NetBackup 6.5 and Sysprep: Script to set the NBU client name to the computer name?

I've got 4 Windows 2003 and 2008 server VMware templates.  I've installed the Netbackup 6.5 agents on the template and when i deploy machines from these templates sysprep with the custom configuration file works fine EXCEPT the NetBackup client name stays the same as the original template name.  I need a script file to add to the Sysprep routine to change NBU client name to be same as the computer NetBios name or VM name.

Or another way to clear this client name from the NBU config so machines deployed from this template will change on start up.

    It is a registry entry:
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veritas\NetBackup\CurrentVersion\Config\Client_Name = XXXX

So would you just clear that setting before shutting down to convert to template or would you set that with a script to be run with the sysprep process?  Would you have any quidance on the syntax of the script for the sysprep file?

    Accepted Solution

If you want to do it during the sysprep process create an entry to your registry key in the guirunonce section of the sysprep.inf.

Here are a few links that may make it more clear.
