hi guys,
I am not sure if you can help me but let's try, I just setup a new installation of Trixbox.
and basically is only have 8 pots lines incoming/outgoing. for some reason yesterday first day of use in the live environment. CPU was getting crazy and Cached was getting very high. the server that I use is pretty descent and I only have 18 extensions.
Yesterday my incoming calls where created as a queue, and I thought the problems was coming from a bug in the queue. I had to reboot at least 5 times yesterday for the server become working again. I also thought it was the FOP panel so I kill the process for that. my highest process was aastra_deamon1 and dialparties. I am not sure what is aastra_deomon but I only use polycom phone so I don't know if this is related to the phone brand aastra.
anyway. today I created groups instead of queues and it seems to work way better, but it just happened again that the CPU went crazy and I had to reboot the server.
the consequence of the CPU getting high, have an effect on our phone volume going down in a call and incoming call not getting transfer

before I rebooted the server I went into asterisk -r and try to take a snapshot of the screen and this what came up. ( I really don't know what it means , but maybe it has to do with something related to extension 515) under I attached the code of the snapshot. Also 515 is an extension in the receptionist group.

my question are the follow:
if ext 515 is causing the problem how can I drop the channel that it is on , for my cpu regain control?
I also realized yesterday that my default feature were available to all user so I don't know if 515 press by mistake a feature code.*88 or something like that.
how can I check the feature that has been turned on by the user.
well my next question is how can I troubleshoot and fix my problem.

I am sorry if it does not make any sense , I know I have been typing this question pretty fast.
But thank you in advanced.
David

I think it has something to do with your your computer writing tons of log files to your server.  Trixbox has some problems with analog cards, I had that same issue with a Sangoma A200 card with 8 POTS lines.  It ended up being my server writing tons of log files due to a problem with the wanpipe driver.  I can't remember the lines I had to edit, but I would check into it.  You can test to see, by looking at your logs and seeing if there is anything to do with the same errors over and over again.

By the way to find the log files go to the "Tools" tab, then to "Asterisk Logfiles" if you don't see it, you will need to install it form your modules section.

thank you for your reply.
I am connected remotely to the system and I see right now that the cached is at 90% red CPU at 49% and it's says total active channels 1, and I am 100% sure that nobody is calling at this time.

are you online?

the asterisk log file is not install. I am gonna install it.
I just typed asterisk -r

Look at your log, go to "Tools" tab, then to "Asterisk Logfile" click "view last 2000"  and see what errors are repeating, or the error after you make an out bound call via Vitelity trunk.  This will narrow down your error.  Then we can go from there.

Plus everything I see in your asterisk -r .txt file is Zap channel, these are POTS, are you using analog lines or are you using vitelity correctly.  Did you select vitelity for your trunk in the "outbound routes" section?

ok, I am not on site at the moment. but I can call the system
attached are the 2000 lines from the log
right now the CPU is jumping from 50 to 100 and I really don't do anything , what I am worry is the cached, it keeps growing now (89%)
I am trying to read the log file , I am sorry but I really don't understand anything.

here is something interresting , I just type top ( and I am really not a guru , I am just going over some note that I have to troubleshoot the box)
and I see op_server.pl in top position with 99.9% CPU
asterisk 55.9%
aastra_daemon1 16.6% the rest is 0 or close to 0

Oh, sorry I got your post confused with another post.  Getting late here on the east cost.  I am going to almost guarantee it is that wanpipe driver.  Like I said, I had the exact error.  My log files started filing up too, so watch your disk space.  Try to do the update:  http://wiki.sangoma.com/wanpipe-asterisk-trixbox-rpms

This might do the trick.  Like I said, it has been a while since I have had this error, but I think it was due to some issue with the wanpipe driver for that A200 card.

Don't forget to do a "yum update -y" in the console of your system.  Then install the wanpipe and zaptel updates from your packages or via rpms as mentioned by the sangoma wiki site.

There seems to be a lot on op_server.pl if you google it, especiall on the trixbox.org forums.  It has to do with the Flash Operator Pannel.  The FOP.

Headed to bed, will check back later.  Good luck man.  Trixbox is great, but a bitch if something gets really screwed up.  FYI, don't upgrade to 2.8 if you want to use HUDLite with your PC.  I think many issues are fixed in 2.8, but I like the unified'ness of HUD lite.   By the way, wanpipe is what is used by zaptel to manage the analog lines.

I am cleaning up my open questions , and I know I never closed this one. well what I end up doing was to reinstall Trixbox from scratch and redo the setup and now it's been more that a year and no trouble at all. so I guess something probably didn't install properly the first time.
Thanks for all your help.
