DLink DSL-2640R

Morning,

I brought a DLINK DSL-2640R and I want to know if it supports external port forwarding to internal port forwarding.

Example:   Ext 30000 to Int 5559

Well ..

Without underestanding much about your application, I wonder why it cannnot use two ports if that;s what it would use in native mode.  I mean, if you had a host sitting on the internet without any firewall, it would just use ports 3000 and 3001, right.  Why does it need individual ones behind the router?  About the only solution I can come up for this is enabling the DMZ feature.  Here's how that is done with your router:

http://www.dlink.co.uk/cs/Satellite?c=TechSupport_C&childpagename=DLinkEurope-GB%2FDLTechFAQ&cid=1197331381288&p=1197318962300&packedargs=locale%3D1195806691854%26packedargs%3Df9ffeaf4e83ab6d02711161af1b5c6f632171b988fa46b92323573a67344a5ca5435e39ad1c7cf11b43ff56b09f24cde&pagename=DLinkEurope-GB%2FDLWrapper

Then, since all ports will be open, you can just use the two, 3000 and 3001.  There are a ton of security issues with this mode of operation.

Let me know what you think and if questions.
