Upgrade Server 2000 to Server2008
I am trying to upgrade a 2000 domain to a 2008 domain. I am running the adprep off the Server 2008 disk and I am running into a problem.
I am getting the usual Schema conflict with Exchange so I am running the the inetorgpersonprevent command and I am getting the followint error:
Importing directory from file "inetorgpersonprevent.ldf"
Loading entries
1: CN=ms-Exch-Assistant-Name, CN=Schema, CN=Configu ration,dc= fbcadmin,d c=com
Add error on line 1: Referral
The server side error is "A referral was returned from the server."
0 entries modified successfully.
An error has occurred in the program
I see the error, it should read CN=msExchAssistantName,CN= Schema,CN= Configurat ion,dc=fbc admin,dcom
but I don't know how to fix it.
I have read so many MS Technet articles, I have probably read the answer but suffering from multiplewordburnout. Everything is runniong together.
Is there a simple fix that I am overlooking?

That helped, I think because now I have error.
I have ran the inetorgpersonfix and this time I get:
ADPREP was unable to extend the schema.
[Status/Consequence]
There is a schema conflict with Exchange 2000. The schema is not upgraded.
[User Action]
The schema conflict must be resolved before running ADPREP. Resolve the schema conflict, allow the change to replicate between all replication partners, and then run ADPREP. For information on resolving the conflict, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article Q325379
I appreciate the help.

I think I have found my issue but I do not know how to remedy the problem.
When I run teh inetorgpersonfix I am getting the following error:
Connecting to "fbcmail.fbcadmin.dom"
Logging in as current user using SSPI
Importing directory from file "inetorgpersonfix.ldf"
Loading entries
1: CN=secretary,CN=Schema,CN= Configurat ion,fbcadm in, dc=com
Add error on line 3: Invalid DN Syntax
The server side error is "The object name has bad syntax."
0 entries modified successfully.
An error has occurred in the program
I am thinking the the problem is in the 1: line it should read as
1: CN=secretary,CN=Schema,CN= Configurat ion,dc=fbc admin,dc=c om
I have looked in the ADSIedit but can find anything
