exchange 2003 online defragmentation question
Hi, all my exchange servers go under online defragmentation in "random" hrs... Last night my server 1 went through an online defrag and dismounted mailbox stores.
here is ..straight from the log ....
"" Information Store (4776) Third Storage Group: Online defragmentation of database 'Y:\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\Mailb ox Store 12.edb' was interrupted and terminated. The next time online defragmentation is started on this database, it will resume from the point of interruption. .....""
although it is scheduled to start Saturday night at 11:00 pm it did last night. any ideas , why ??

yes backups are running this time frame...
why ??
why ??
Backup of the Exchange server? If so change the time. Backing up the Exchange Server during a online defrag will kill the defrag.
ASKER
but the online defrag took place last night ,,,,it is set to start on Sat night at 11pm
why does it do defrag on its own ??
