Microsoft Exchange 2007 won't send e-mails

Hi all,

For the past three days i have had issue with my domain controller, firstly I logged the following call

http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Server/Windows_Server_2008/Q_24998038.html

Which i have now resolved (i think)

Then I had issues with Exchange where the Information Store wouldn't start. So i upgraded to SP2 and the IS is now started.

My new issue is that i cannot send any e-mails.

Has any one got any ideas.

Just to let you know my Exchange 2007 skill are quite low.

Thanks in advanced.

What's your send connector configuration?
Under Organisation Configuration > Hub Transport > Send Connector.

It might be worth making note if imthe settings and then create a new one.

Hi Demazter,
Thanks for your reply,
I have deleted the SMTP and recreated and still have the same issue.
I have just checked the Queue status screen print attached.
Cheers

Can you uninstall avast and then reboot.

Disabling it won't help it needs to be uninstalled.

You can also disable the avast connection limit by changing the default value from 20 to 0

MaxConnections      20      The default concurrent connection limit is 20 (for mail & news together). If the limit was exceeded, you would see the line Closing connection due to MaxConnections into aswMaiSv.log file. This limit exists not to save resources, but to prevent connection looping in strange configurations, so the user can increase it without worry to, for instance, 50. The value 0 disables the limit.

This setting is in the avast ini file under MaxConnections, you can find the ini file in:
C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\avast4\Data\avast4.ini

Sorry the MaxConnections value should be listed in the MailScanner section.

Hmmm.... Sounds like a DNS problem?
Is it set to use only a valid Windows DNS server?

Glen KnightCommented:
You have 2 choices.

Either using outlook and export the mailbox to PST or use the export-mailbox command as per: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb266964(EXCHG.80).aspx
