Photo software that will separate photos by time/date

I take pictures of homes and usually have about an hour of time between homes.  At then end of a few days I might have a thousand pictures of over 20 different homes.  It takes quite a while to separate all the pictures of homes into the 20 or so folders.

IIf I knew that I had at least 1 hour between homes is there an application that would look at the time/date the picture was taken where I could define a time of say 1 hour and it would look for the one hour gap in time and automatically separate the pictures into different folders based on that criteria?
