WSS - can't login from the Internet Zone

WSS 3.0 installed on windows 2003 sp1 standalone server (not on domain)

I can browse the site as "Anonymous", but I can't sign into the site with valid user credentials.

I checked IIS:  It is configured to use Anonymous and Integrated authentication.

...any clue?

abhvp:  Thanks, but that didn't help.  If I uncheck authentication, all access is denied.

HOWEVER - I did change the authentication in IIS from "Integrated" to "Basic".  This works.  I just need to configure a redirector to force SSL on the site since "Basic" will send PW in clear text.

Thanks!
