Is my my hard drive?

I have a Dell Inspiron Windows Vista Home Premium that recently I am getting a warning message from Intel Matrix Storage saying: "A hard drive is reporting a SMART event."  "A hard drive has reported that it might fail."  I tried to look at the System Log in the Event Viewer and it tells me that it can't read the data or that it is corrupt.  I ran the Dell Diagnostics and it reports 0146 Error Code (Bad Hard Drive).  I have also ran a few chkdsk and thye have reported that everything is okay.

The computer seems to be running fine other than it seems a bit more sluggish than it used to be.

Any suggestions?

I have never seen SMART return a false positive. You need to backup data ASAP and replace hard drive.
