Is there a way to securely remote from one server to another that are on different static ips but on the same subnet and have the same gateway?

Enable high security for RDP and just do regular remote desktop? Are there other criteria that are limiting your options? Is the shared gateway a firewall restricting traffic?

I had suggest that ....I was hoping something along the lines of the industry or standard way/ something that would be on an exam/ professionally known. If worst comes to worst I guess I will try logmein...any more suggestions?
High security RDP for the full Windows experience would be the way to go ... if you just need command line, use SSH. Are the servers 2003, 2008, or one of each?
